Mark Rein is an associate in the firm’s Employment Litigation practice group. Mr. Rein concentrates his practice on vigorously defending employers—large and small—against allegations of discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful termination, and failure to accommodate. Mr. Rein also has significant experience defending representative actions brought under California’s Private Attorneys General Act and advising employers of their obligations under state and federal leave laws. Mr. Rein proudly takes ownership of his cases and successfully handles them from case inception through appeal. Mr. Rein’s extensive law and motion experience in both state and federal court allows him to effectively and efficiently resolve suits before they ever reach a jury.

Prior to joining Andrews Lagasse Branch + Bell, Mr. Rein was an associate at another mid-sized employment law firm in San Diego. Mr. Rein began his legal career defending national and international insurance carriers in complex coverage disputes and high exposure bad faith coverage litigation.

Mr. Rein received his J.D., magna cum laude, with a concentration in civil litigation from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he graduated ranked second in his class and was elected to the Order of the Coif. During law school, Mr. Rein was a member of the San Diego Law Review and received multiple CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for earning the highest grade in his individual courses, including Criminal Procedure I, Remedies, and Wills & Trusts.

Outside of work, Mr. Rein enjoys running along San Diego’s beautiful waterfront, exploring the city’s vibrant culinary scene, and creating amazing memories with his wife and son.
