General Tort Litigation

At Andrews Lagasse Branch + Bell LLP, our attorneys have broad and extensive experience in defending all types of general liability claims, including premises liability, catastrophic accidents, and product liability. In the premises liability arena, we represent an array of property owners and managers, including national real estate investment trusts, risk pooling trust members, and public entities, in claims involving slip and falls, assault and battery, fires, inadequate security, exposures to chemicals (including mold), and dog bites. We have also litigated a variety of catastrophic injury claims involving construction site accidents, heavy-machinery operations, and serious automobile collisions. Our product liability practice involves the defense of claims alleging that the product manufactured or supplied by our client was in some way defective. Our clients primarily consist of product manufacturers and suppliers in the construction and chemical industries.

Regardless of the type of claim at issue, we are both practical and aggressive in our approach, depending upon the circumstances with which our client is confronted. If a claim appears to have merit, we strive to reach an early, cost-effective resolution so our client can avoid the expense and burden of protracted litigation. On the other hand, when a claim is frivolous, we employ an aggressive litigation strategy and zealously defend our clients, their employees, and their products. We regularly succeed in obtaining the summary dismissal of claims by way of demurrers, motions to strike and motions for summary judgment.
