Lauren M. Movsesian

Lauren M. Movsesian is an associate with Andrews Lagasse Branch + Bell LLP. Ms. Movsesian's practice is focused on defending corporations, individuals, and organizations in employment law matters. Ms. Movsesian represents employers in all types of litigation and pre-litigation counseling, including union/labor disputes, discrimination, wage and hour claims, as well as other employment-related torts and contracts, practicing in state and federal court, as well as before administrative agencies.

Prior to joining Andrews Lagasse Branch + Bell LLP, Ms. Movsesian was Counsel at the Service Employees International Union, Local 721 in Los Angeles, where she practiced labor and employment law, enforcing over 100 collective bargaining agreements representing approximately 95,000 members in the Southern California region. While at SEIU 721, she was the Chief Negotiator of a significant collective bargaining agreement and she has handled disciplinary and contract violation cases through all stages of the hearing process, including arbitration, discovery, mediation, and settlement negotiations. Ms. Movsesian has also represented entities before the National Labor Relations Board, California's Public Employment Relations Board ("PERB"), Los Angeles County's Employee Relations Commission ("ERCOM"), and Los Angeles City's Employee Relations Board ("ERB"). She also filed and first chaired writ proceedings in civil service cases and successfully defended against EEOC, DFEH, Unfair Labor Practice charges.

In 2010, Ms. Movsesian received her J.D. with an Emphasis in Entertainment Law from Chapman University School of Law. During law school, Ms. Movsesian externed with the Screen Actors Guild in its Affirmative Action and Diversity Department, served as Research Assistant to Family Law Professor Elizabeth MacDowell (now the Director of the Family Justice Clinic at University of Nevada, Las Vegas) and was an Equal Justice Works Summer Intern with the Legal Aid Foundation of Santa Barbara County in 2008 and 2009. After law school, Ms. Movsesian served as a Research Assistant for Chapman University's Entertainment Program Executive Director, Professor Kathy Heller.

Ms. Movsesian holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of California, Irvine.

Ms. Movsesian is admitted to the State Bar of California. She is a member of the Junior Board of Piece by Piece (an affiliate of the Skid Row Housing Trust), the Junior League of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Lawyers Philharmonic and the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles.
